Every year, as part of its ongoing efforts to organize public health campaigns on various issues related to general health and hygiene, Chaupal holds a first of its kind "rural marathon".  Through the run, Chaupal promotes health awareness and champions causes such as the health of the girl child, empowerment of women, and an end to female foeticide.

The first Chaupal marathon, held on Nov 13, 2011, saw over 10,000 runners participate in the event.  Men and women as old as 80 years of age and belonging to more than 10 districts of the states Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi ran and walked to make the marathon a grand success.  Flagged by international star athletes, the race started at 5:30AM and brought out people in hordes as they cheered the runners.
